Hello, I’m Matthis, and I was at Eulenhof for 10 weeks. It was one of the best experiences of my life, and I highly recommend coming to this place. At the start, I have to say that being deeply immersed in the German language was overwhelming, but as the first day or week passed, you truly become a part of this huge family. For example, breakfast is at Ulli and Markus‘ place, and after the early harvest, it’s so cool to sit at the table, prepare your big muesli bowl, and listen to the conversation, share your opinions, etc. As a wwoofer, you will work only in the morning, usually from 7 to 12:45, with breakfast in between (yes, I love to eat 🙂 ). In the afternoon, you’re totally free; the only task is to take care of the villa and the chickens. So, enjoy this free time by going swimming in the Rhein, hiking in the Black Forest, finding treasures on the farm, or just sitting in a chair and taking time to appreciate nature.
Ulli and Markus are two wonderful people who are 200% invested in the farm. If I could give advice, it would be to not hesitate to be curious and ask even the simplest questions. Absorb all their knowledge and, in turn, understand how the farm works. I also encourage you to stay for a long time. The longer you stay, the more you will discover new things and connect more deeply with people. On the other hand, you’ll also take on more responsibilities and gain an accurate, comprehensive view of this paradise.
Finally, I’d like to write a more personal note: Thank you, everyone, for the time spent together. I don’t know when I’ll come back, but you’ve helped me discover new ways to live and dream. For that and more, you will stay in my mind and heart.
