Needless to say, Markus and Ulli are the great farmer I've ever seen in my life. They are enjoying not only their work but also their private time like a holiday or after working. Because of seeing their lifestyle, I could decide to be a farmer in Japan. If you come here, please be careful 'cause your life might change ;)
Benjamin aus Kanada schreibt: For me, wwoofing experience, of course, is firstly an organic farming experience. But moreover, and probably
more important, it is human beings experience. It is different universes exchanging, merging, changing and learning from each other. Markus and Ulrike fully understood the power of human cooperation and how we grow as human being from work, from discussions, from being open minded and deeply kind. All the workers at this farm benefit from this pure and sane environment. Working each day at the farm is a real pleasure since everything you do feels like a part of this human being goodness experience they impart to it. I feel very honoured I had the chance to meet, discuss and work with all of you guys, you will stay into my heart forever. Many thanks
My name is Tommaso, I'm from Italy and I spent 3 weeks at Eulenhof. I had great time there, learned so many interesting things regarding agriculture e knew kind and pleasant people. The environment is totally inclusive: Uli and Markus shared and explained in detail and with passion what they did and what I was supposed to do, making me feel really part of the business, part of the group and even part of the family. They invited me to play volleyball, go to the gym and to the sauna, visit the beautiful surroundings and helped me to learn little by little some German, speaking progressively a little bit faster and more complex, and avoiding English since the second week, even if it sometimes took me more time to understand.
Moreover, I have to mention other interesting people I met at the farm and I had great time with: a couple of woofers, 2 volunteers, some refugees who came occasionally to give a hand and of course Chrissi, an amusing and sweetheart guy who's been working there for 5 years and who taught me some very funny German words he invented!
Ciao!
Arianna aus Italien schreibt: I spent two weeks at Eulenhof and, despite the time went far too fast, I had the chance to fully understand the value of this family-run business. I learned many things about agriculture, starting with how one picks and prepares vegetables to sell them. Every single job I was given was different, and made me learn something. Working with the hens has been very interesting, and what scared me or seemed odd to me at the beginning has become by the end very natural and beautiful.
The greatest worth of this place though is the fact that the people you work with transmit so much passion for what they do, a thing that I really deem fundamental. One can learn how to plant garlic anywhere in the world, but a place that prompts you to learn to love the land, the nature that lives in it, and the people who work with you is really one that is worthy of growing and going forward. This is a place open to all things new and important: new projects with refugees, young people and people in need. And after many long hours of hard work, they will still do anything for you or for people in the village.
My name is Tamar, I am from Israel and I volunteered at Eulenhof for 3 weeks. As awfully short as my time at the farm was I found it extremely enjoyable and more than that, I found myself a second family. Coming to Eulenhof be prepared to find new set of two caring and loving parents and a group of new brothers and sisters from around the globe. Be ready to be asked by Ulli to stay at least until Christmas, to play with Markus volleyball every Thursday and do not dare to miss the sauna on Saturday!
As a wwoofer be prepared to work hard, eat good food, sleep well and to have the best time with the most amazing people!

If you have ever wondered where to find an ideal place for learning about agriculture in a beautiful setting surrounded by international inquiring minds, you are checking the right website at the moment!
The environment on Eulenhof is extremely inclusive, I felt myself a part of a big family since the moment I arrived. A friendly atmosphere encourages you to learn, and if you fail (yes, it happens) -- to try once more.
The life on the farm is dynamic and busy. Markus and Uli run the farm highly professionally. Here you see that they are truly passionate about what they do. Following their example, we quickly learned about the life on the farm: what are “the right” size of zucchinis for harvesting, how to hack beetroot plants and how to plant sprouts. Among some wonderful experiences I’ve had on the farm was collecting 400 eggs daily with my mates from France and Wales, driving a tractor and working on the potato harvesting machine.
During my three weeks stay, I had a chance to meet people of eight nationalities: Japanese, Mexican, American, Austrian, just to name a few. Some of them I’ve known for only a week but I felt strong bonding between us because we shared so many great moments every day. Moreover, two refugees - Anabela from Nigeria and Querim from Kosovo- worked with us shoulder to shoulder. Talking to them, I was able to gain deeper understanding of their experiences and struggles in a foreign country.
There is plenty of free time after the work is done in the afternoon. It is a time to reflect on your life lying in a hammock on a backyard, swim in the Rhein, taste all ice-cream flavors in Mona Lisa café or dare to go and discover Basel or Zurich!
The food on the farm deserves a separate paragraph (sauna too, by the way), but you’d better come here on your own and taste fresh vegetables and fruits, nutritious tofu sausages and avocados! Here I’ve started to consciously approach my eating habits and eat a lot of organic foods. Every weekday, the whole team had a healthy breakfast together at Uli’s and Markus’ house and then not less delicious lunch at Sedus. At night, all wwoofers enjoyed barbeque on the open air.
To put it short: Markus and Ulrike created vivacious ambiance on the farm. Wwoofing experience on Eulenhof is something that stays in your memory crystal clear for a long, long time.

First at all, i decided to go in a farm to learn more about the life in this environment and to improve my german as well. I’ve never done that before, and i knew nothing about all these stuff in the farm… As soon i arrived at Uli’s place, i was already a member of the family and the atmosphere was really great, it was difficult to understand them due to my bad german, but they spoke really slow at first, and then i was able to understand them pretty well.
I learn a lot of stuff really quickly, and they explained me very well and they trusted me a lot. As i said, i was, during this month, not a worker, but a member of the family, and we had a lot of fun all day long, during these Hard, but nice day of work.
Chrissie is a man in the farm and he really helped me if i had a problem, and he was really cool with me, Sophia and Lydia were also amazing and very patient to explain me some all i had to know. I had also amazing time with Markus, playing volleyball and work out in the evening, and all kind of activities, that was great. Uli and Markus are a great couple, and they took me one day to the sauna, where we had a really great time!
It’s always hard to go in a place where you have no idea what’s gonna happened, but in Eulenhof, you have no problem, you have a real place in the family, and the time is always too short. i wanted to thank all member of the farm for what they’ve done for me and what they’ve learn to me.. and i look forward to come again and to beat again Chrissie at the football table =D
Jule und Benjamin aus Dresden schreiben:
Hey there, this is Jule (from Dresden, Germany). My boyfriend and I spent two great weeks here at Eulenhof. Though we had asked for a WWOOF quite spontaneously it was no problem because no wwoofer has ever come as early as we came and there was enough space and work for us.
Although we got lost on our way and thus arrived late we were welcomed amazingly friendly by the whole team.
We had a lot of fun during our stay because we got to do diverse tasks and were also quickly granted some responsibility: driving the tractor, delivering vegetables etc.
However, we never felt left alone; both Ulrike and Markus always gave clear instructions which was very helpful. Moreover, they were extremely patient, even in case something went wrong.
We shared a house with Chrissi and the two FÖJs Lydia and Sophia. It was very comfortable and we really enjoyed to hang out with the others after a hard working day.
The food supply was better than perfect. I felt that Markus and Ulrike are quite generous: There was a huge storage cell filled with fresh veggies directly in front of out door as well as hundreds of eggs (Note: staying at Eulenhof is absolutely suitable for vegans, too!). We could get everything we needed from their pantry (and other delicious things you do not necessarily need but definitely enjoy eating!).
To cut short: Awesome! Eulenhof is a wonderful place with wonderful people and we absolutely enjoyed every day here!
